Livescribe has announced the forthcoming release of Livescribe Desktop Software for the Mac, companion Software intended for use with its Pulse Smartpen. The fee Software for Pulse customers is planned for general distribution beginning on February 17, 2009. This will mark the general release of the Software, following a public beta test that began in November.

Indianapolis » GyanSys, an Indianapolis software consultant, is requesting $15,600 in tax abatements on computer and IT equipment that it will use as part of a 139-employee expansion by 2014. The company is investing $3 million to build a headquarters near the Marion-Hamilton county line. It currently rents space at 3535 E. 96th St. (Star report)

Autodesk, which is not participating in Macworld Expo this week, introduced three new creative software tools for the Mac platform. The company?s new offerings include Toxik, a procedural compositing tool; Mudbox, designed for digital sculpting and texture painting; and ImageModeler, image-based modeling and photogrammetry software. All three programs require an Intel-based Mac.
